Our Curriculum Intent

We all belong to The Ferncumbe Family, sharing love and learning, to grow in dignity, respect and wisdom, inspired by the teachings of Jesus. 

We aim to provide an enriching curriculum for all our children that prepares them for the next step in their education. High academic achievement is supported through our nurturing approach and SEND provision, fostering resilience, building confidence and an enthusiasm for learning. Our children know that they are safe to make mistakes, and we encourage them to see these as an opportunity for personal growth.   

Our children are guided through a rich, relevant curriculum that celebrates all and fosters an understanding of local, national and global values.  We empower our children to question and make decisions, ensuring that the voice of the child is heard. As they grow in independence, we ensure our children reflect on their actions so that they understand the links between respect and responsibility.
