Lowsonford class
Lowsonford had a busy Science lesson this week investigating light rays. We tried to reflect a beam of light off as many mirrors as possible before it hit an ‘eye, and then we made periscopes, using our new knowledge about angles of reflection. They were fiddly and much masking tape was required, but before long, we were able to peer over objects and observe each other’s eyes at the top of our models. We ended the lesson with Rainbow Mechanics online, where we tried to reflect a light ray off as many mirrors as possible to create a rainbow in a prism. We only got to level 2!
Wroxall class
This week, Wroxall class have been writing letters from the Once’ler to the Lorax, to apologise for the destruction he caused to the beautiful Truffula trees and the environment around them, all so he could make horrid thneeds that nobody needs. A tale that has been relevant and poignant since 1972! Hugh absolutely outdid himself and stayed with the rhyming theme to create his letter. We were blown away. Well done Hugh!!
Shrewley Class
Year 4 have been enjoying participating in PE lessons, particularly making use of the track and field recently. We have been practising long jump, javelin, sprinting and relay. Each lesson, different children have had the chance to be the sports leader for the various events and they have done a super job! We are very much enjoying using the new long jump mat which has encouraged us to jump to impressive distances. We hope for warmer and drier days so we can continue to improve our skills in the sunshine!
