The Ferncumbe C of E Primary School is part of the Arden Forest C of E Multi Academy Trust.
Welcome to the Ferncumbe Family, a friendly, high-achieving church school that is proud of its caring and nurturing family ethos. We are a dedicated team of professionals who continue to develop high standards of behaviour and academic achievement, with every pupil well known to all staff.
We know that children’s emotions are key; when they feel safe, secure and supported learning is at its most successful. Ferncumbe is a place where pupils are valued, understood and consulted. Promoting a positive attitude to school, and a lifelong love of learning is at the heart of our Christian vision.
Our broad curriculum reflects our passion for active learning and promotes real life contexts at every opportunity. The rural location enables us to enrich the children’s experiences outside the classroom. Our ‘Charter of Entitlement’ outlines these opportunities; it is our promise to every child at Ferncumbe.
Over the past few years our excellent academic results have gone from strength to strength. In January 2024 we received two letters from Minister for Schools, Damian Hinds, congratulating us on our outstanding Year 1 Phonics Screening Check results which put us in the top 4% of all primary schools in the country, and our Year 4 Multiplication Tables Check results which placed us in the top 200 schools in England. Our 2023 Key Stage 2 SAT results put us in the top 10% of all primary schools in Warwickshire, and in the top 5% for pupils achieving the higher standard. Our high expectations and careful monitoring of pupil progress enables us to offer extra support or challenge to all.
We see ourselves as partners with parents in your children's development. We have an open door policy and welcome parent volunteers to enrich many aspects of school life. If you and your child do join us there will be a carefully planned induction programme to cement the foundation of what will be a long and fruitful partnership.
The website can only give a brief overview of the 'Ferncumbe Family' so visits are encouraged to get a true sense of our values.
